1958 TOPPS All Star Stan Musial CARD - Busch Stadium (I) PAINTING
This original 1958 Topps Stan Musial All Star card has a surprise on the back - an original painting of Busch Stadium (I) (previously called Sportsman's Park). This item is 1 of 1, one of a kind, you will not find another like it.
Musial, with his corkscrew stance, put up remarkable career numbers, to say the least! Lifetime .331 hitter, 3,630 hits and 475 home runs! He was a 24x All-Star (more than anyone besides Hank Aaron), 3x World Champion, 3x NL MVP, 7x NL batting champion, member of MLB's "All Century Team" and 1969 inductee into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
As for Sportsman's Park, which became known as Busch Stadium (I) in 1953, think about this for a second, the Cardinals won 7 World Series Championships in that ballpark on North Grand Blvd!
After the final game was played at Busch Stadium (I) in 1966, Stan Musial, who had retired 3 years earlier, said, "They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but this old diamond has been pretty good to us."
It sure was!
Baseball card is ungraded.
