This 1959 Topps Chicago White Sox team card has a surprise on the back - an original painting of Comiskey Park. Artist Michael Koser sometimes leaves a little bit of the original card visible through the painting, so you will notice "White Sox" along in the lower tier of the LF seats. This item is 1 of 1.

1959 was a magical year for the White Sox. They finished 94-60 and went on to win the A.L. Pennant, their first in 40 years. The lineup included multiple future Hall of Famers including SS, Luis Aparicio, '59 MVP Nellie Fox, '59 Cy Young winner Early Wynn and outfielder/1B Larry Doby.

The Chicago White Sox played at Comiskey Park, "the baseball palace of the world", from 1910-1990. Comiskey was the site of 4 World Series (including the infamous 1919 World Series), 3 All-Star games (including the first ever), 8 no-hitters, and so many all time greats and characters including those previously mentioned and Joe Jackson, Eddie Collins, Luke Appling, Minnie Minoso, Dick Allen, "the commander" Carlton Fisk, owner Bill Veeck (who introduced the "exploding scoreboard" in 1960), Hawk Harrelson and so many others!
