1978 Topps Carlton Fisk Card - Fenway Park Painting
This original 1978 Topps Carlton Fisk card has a surprise on the back - an original painting of Fenway Park. This item is 1 of 1.
Carlton Ernest Fisk was an 11X All-Star, 3X Silver Slugger, AL Rookie of the Year, Gold Glove winner and responsible for one of the most famous home runs in baseball history, a dramatic walk off winner in the 12th inning of Game 6 of the 1975 World Series. The image of "Pudge" jumping up and willing the ball fair is iconic! Fisk was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2000.
“He played the game the right way. Both behind the plate and at the plate.” Teammate Carl Yastrzemski.
The Boston Red Sox have been playing at Fenway Park since 1912. So much history - Ted Williams 502 ft. home run in 1946, clinching the AL Pennant in 1967 on the final day of the season, The Munson/Fisk brawl in 1973, Clemens striking out 20 in 1986, the All Century Team revealed at the 1999 All-Star Game, game 4 and 5 of the 2004 ALCS, Jon Lester's no hitter in 2008 after being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma 2 years earlier and of course the aforementioned Carlton Fisk walk off homer in game 6 of the 1975 World Series, just to name a few of the more historic moments.
Card is ungraded.
