1967 Topps Tony Oliva Card - Metropolitan Stadium Painting
This 1967 Topps Tony Oliva card has a surprise on the back - an original painting of Metropolitan Stadium. Artist Michael Koser always leaves a little bit of the original card visible through the painting, so you will notice "Tony Oliva" above the iconic right field scoreboard. This item is 1 of 1.
Tony Oliva played his entire career (1962-1976) for the Minnesota Twins. He was an 8X All-Star, AL Rookie of the Year, 3X AL batting champion and led the league in hits 5X. In 2000 he was voted into the inaugural class of the Minnesota Twins Hall of Fame.
“He was as good as any hitter of his time… Better,” - Lou Pinella.
"I was born in Cuba, but Minnesota is my home." - Tony Oliva
The Twins played at Metropolitan Stadium in Bloomington, MN (now the site of the Mall of America) from 1961-1981.
Card is ungraded.
